Duke Fergerson with help from his teammate Roger
Staubach, hall of famer from the Dallas Cowboys
looked to the NFL to help create the Harlem program.
The NFL responded with a $10,000 grant from the
NFL Youth Football Fund (YFF). The grant has enabled
the team to purchase game uniforms, helmets and
shoulder pads. The $150 million YFF was established
by the NFL in collaboration with the NFL Players
Association to promote positive youth development,
while insuring the health and future of football
at the grass roots level.
