“Being on the Harlem Hellfighters has taught me patience and per- severance.” Jachin played baseball and always wanted to play football. He feels blessed to have the opportunity. Jachin also runs track has a brown belt in Judo and black belts in Jujitsu and Tae Kwon Do.

“I’ve discovered, if I try hard I can achieve anything.” Before the Harlem Hellfighters, Kendall had played no organized football. The discipline and strategizing of football has helped him think more clearly. He would like to attend Syracuse or Delaware. Kendall would like a pro football career and plans to get a business or law degree.

“Being with the Harlem Hellfighters from the beginning has taught me a lot about having faith.” He feels that on a team you’re not only responsible for yourself, but for your teammates. Michael is involved in Theatre Arts , writes poetry, music, plays keyboards and has a Rap group. He’s looked at several colleges including Stanford, Notre Dame and Columbia and is working to get academic and sports scholarships.

“Being on the Harlem Hellfighters is like being part of a big family.” The experience has taught Michael the value of teamwork and discipline, and has motivated him to work harder in school. Michael plans to attend college and has found more opportunities for scholarships than he prev iously thought. Michael plans a career in computer science.
